Q: What stood out to you about the Normain team?
A: The first thing I noticed was the mix of urgency and seniority. It’s rare to see a team that’s both hungry and grounded. Many startups are energetic, but underestimate how hard building a real product is. At Normain, it was clear they had a deep understanding of the problem space and were already executing with a high level of technical maturity. Everyone was using modern tools and best practices from day one, with a mindset that sets a high bar not just for shipping fast, but for building things right. Add to that a team culture that genuinely wants you to grow and succeed, and the decision became pretty easy.
Q: What’s your perspective on Normain’s product?
A: I think the potential is huge. It’s not a question of if, but when. Even though I’m still getting up to speed, I’ve already seen enough in our backlog to be confident that things are about to move fast. Normain’s approach is about automating expert workflows with AI while preserving a company’s unique IP. It’s exactly what large, traditional industries are missing right now. It’s high-leverage tech with real-world impact.
Q: You had a lot of options. Why Normain?
A: It came down to three things: the team, the product, and the timing. I knew I wanted to join early and have influence. With Normain, I could see the combination of momentum and opportunity. On top of that, the people around the company—advisors, board members, even investors—are all in. Everyone is engaged, ambitious, and deeply believes in what we’re building. That kind of alignment gives you a lot of energy.
Q: What are you most excited about in AI tech right now?
A: Like a lot of people, I’m fascinated by agentic workflows and agent swarms. The idea of orchestrating multiple autonomous agents to handle complex, interdependent tasks is a huge leap from basic prompting. I’m following that space closely, and I think we’re only scratching the surface of what’s possible.
Q: Why TypeScript?
A: For me, it’s all about developer experience and iteration speed. TypeScript gives you strong guarantees while still letting you move fast. That matters a lot in an environment like Normain, where we’re pushing features quickly but also aiming for long-term scalability. That said, I’m also a big fan of Python and use it often in my free time. It’s great to be able to work across both languages depending on the problem at hand.
